Béatrice Ouimet est une photographe et artiste visuelle de Tiohtià:ke/Montréal. Elle est principalement intéressée par le rôle de la photographie dans la construction de l’identité, des histoires et archives familiales, et le cyberespace. C’est une féministe, avec un intérêt marqué pour les cultures visuelles du corps sur le web. Ses photographies évoquent souvent le thème du passage, et son esthétique s’inspire de la nostalgie associée à la mémoire. Elle pratique la photographie depuis près de huit ans et a tout récemment gradué du baccalauréat en beaux-arts de l’Université Concordia. 

Béatrice Ouimet is a photographer and visual artist from Tiohtià:ke/Montréal. She is most interested in the role of photographic imagery in the construction of the self [or selves], as an archive of familial histories and narratives, and the cyberspace. She also is a feminist, and has a keen interest, as a digital native, for visual cultures of the body on the Internet. Her photography often tackles the theme of passage, and her aesthetic is inspired by the nostalgia associated with memory. She has been practicing photography for roughly eight years and has recently completed her BFA at Concordia University.
